Clitocybe nuda, commonly known as the wood blewit and alternately described as Lepista nuda, is an edible mushroom native to Europe and North America. Blewits are known for their striking blue or purple color, and must be cooked, and not eaten raw.
Why Grow Blewit
Blewits have a strong distinctive flavor, smelling slightly of aniseed. They are typically cooked in stews, omelets, or even fried in butter.
- Meaty, smooth texture with a distinctive flavor
- Colonize on sawdust spawn
- Liquid culture to harvest 6 to 12 months on complex substrate materials including wood chip, yard compost, mature manure, straw, and leaf litter
All Good Mushroom liquid culture syringes are backed by our Quality Guarantee.
First Time Growing Blewit Mushrooms?
Please note that Blewit mushroom cultivation requires an outdoor environment (e.g. garden bed) and temperate climate. In addition to your Blewit liquid culture syringe, you will also need specific growing materials and conditions that Morel mushrooms favor. See our Grow Guide for Blewit here!
In all of our mushroom grow kit products, we make a conscious effort to minimize waste and use only compostable and recyclable materials where possible.
