Black Morel Liquid Culture

$18.99

Black Morel, or Morchella elata, is the less commonly known of the morels. It can be found naturally almost anywhere East of the Rocky Mountains in well-drained soil under trees, typically from March through June.

Why Grow Black Morel

A well-cooked morel can have an earthy, woodsy, or nutty flavor, while the Black Morel has a more smokey flavor.

  • Earthy, woodsy, or nutty flavor
  • Colonize on grain and sawdust
  • Liquid culture to harvest in 2 months (if you’re lucky!) Most difficult cultivar to grow with consistency

All Good Mushroom liquid culture syringes are backed by our Quality Guarantee.

First Time Growing Black Morel?

Please note that morel mushrooms are relatively difficult to cultivate, as they require patience and a precise balance of conditions. In addition to your Black Morel liquid culture syringe, you’ll also need specific growing materials and conditions that Morel mushrooms favor. See our Grow Guide for Black Morel here!

In all of our mushroom grow kit products, we make a conscious effort to minimize waste and use only compostable and recyclable materials where possible.

We use HEPA air filtration to maintain a positively pressurized “clean room” environment. All liquid culture syringe production takes place in our clean-room laboratories in front of laminar flow hoods, using laboratory-grade borosilicate glassware, surgical steel tools, and medical-grade syringes and tip caps. Our equipment, tools, and work surfaces are kept clean using both UVC and autoclave sterilization.

It can be found naturally almost anywhere east of the Rocky Mountains in well-drained soil under trees, typically from March through June.

The Morel mushroom can be found in the wild all over the Northern Hemisphere, but are predominantly found in North America. These mushrooms love well drained soil and have a relatively short fruiting period from March to May.

Black Morel gourmet mushrooms are for advanced growers, and can be considered almost experimental with how finicky they tend to grow.

Our Black Morel gourmet liquid culture syringes are guaranteed to be free of contamination and contain healthy live mycelium.

We’ve got the best shiitake.

Our team at Good Mushroom has a passion to provide the highest quality mushroom genetics through liquid culture syringes, consistent and reliable cultivation materials and supplies.

Nothing to report, yet!

I am trying to do my due diligence with research on the morel mushrooms. I want to be able to sustain an indoor growing setup. I know it's only been done by a very few, and I mean a very few, people. So before I start this adventure I have a few more thing to figure out, like a proper humidifier system that would suit the needs of grow morels. After that I will start working on the proper fruiting substrate. I do plan on buying some diffrent culinary mushroom spores to grow in the mean time because mushrooms are a favorite around the house. And a little education on gardening.
