Lion’s Mane Good to Grow Kit
$47.99
The “Mushroom for the Mind!” Lion’s Mane, or Hericium erinaceus, is our most popular Good to Grow Kit. These neurotrophic mushrooms have become well sought after for a number of reasons.
It’s difficult to categorize Lion’s Mane as either gourmet or medicinal mushroom. It fits the bill for both!
Lion’s Mane is one of the most recognizable mushrooms as it grows into a pompom with “teeth.” It’s also one of the easiest mushrooms to cultivate right at home.
Our Good to Grow Kit includes:
- Lion’s Mane Liquid Culture
- Starter Grain Bag (2lbs)
- Hardwood Substrate Grow Bag (4lbs)

We use HEPA air filtration to maintain a positively pressurized “clean room” environment. All liquid culture syringe production takes place in our clean-room laboratories in front of laminar flow hoods, using laboratory-grade borosilicate glassware, surgical steel tools, and medical-grade syringes and tip caps. Our equipment, tools, and work surfaces are kept clean using both UVC and autoclave
sterilization.
Mushroom Strain Origin
Lion’s Mane originated in Asia, Europe, and parts of North America. Lion’s mane (Hericium species) are common saprophytic (decomposing) fungi found on decaying trees throughout the Northern United States and Canada, as well as other northern hemisphere regions, growing from walnut, beech, maple, black walnut, birch, and other hardwood trees.
There are three species of Hericium that are found in Eastern North America. They are Hericium erinaceus, Hericium americanum, and Hericium coralloides.
Lion's Mane in the Wild
Lion’s Mane most often grows from the wood of dead or dying deciduous trees, often fallen oak, beech, or maple, from late summer to fall. It can be spotted on logs, on stumps, and sometimes in the scars of living trees.
