Which growing medium do I need?
Both! You’ll colonize your culture in grain first, then transfer to substrate. Our Starter Grain Bag is perfect for beginners to try growing many popular mushroom varieties — like Enoki and King Trumpet. (More in our FAQ here.)
For the best flushes, it’s all about quality substrate like ours. Our hardwood substrate grow bag is ideal for any variety of hardwood-loving mushroom, including Shiitake, Lion’s Mane, Oyster mushroom varieties and Maitake.
